Those suspiciously cheap open plot listings on OLX - has anyone actually gone and checked one out?

Keep seeing open plot listings that look far too cheap for the area they claim to be in, always on OLX, never on the more legitimate portals. Tempting just to go look, but wondering if anyone's actually followed up on one of these or if it's a well known pattern best avoided entirely.

Anything priced that far below what's realistic for the location is almost always one of a few things, disputed land, a layout with no actual approval, or a straight token-advance scam where the 'seller' disappears once you've paid something to hold the plot. Seen all three play out with people I know.

Always insist on seeing original documents at the sub-registrar's office, not photocopies or WhatsApp photos, before you even talk about a token amount. If they resist that request at all, that's your answer.

Fair enough, wasn't planning to actually pay anything without checking, just curious if it was ever legitimate. Sounds like the answer is basically no.

Not worth the risk for the amount of time you'd save. Regular portals and a known local agent are slower but at least you know who to chase if something goes wrong.
