How do I actually find out the stamp duty I'll owe before I commit to buying a shop in Karimnagar?

Everyone quotes a different figure when I ask around, one broker says one number, a neighbour who bought last year says something else entirely. Don't want to plan my budget around a guess and get surprised at the SRO.

Stamp duty is charged on whichever is higher between what you're paying and the government guideline value for that survey number/locality, so first pull the current guideline value on the IGRS Telangana portal, registration.telangana.gov.in. The exact duty rate itself confirm directly at the SRO since it can vary by category and does get revised, don't go by word of mouth.

And ask the SRO clerk to write out the full breakup before you arrange the DD, saves a second trip.

Does the guideline value show differently for commercial classification versus if the same plot is listed residential? Ours seems to sit in a mixed zone and I can't tell which figure applies.
