Went to register a commercial shop in Khammam yesterday — the SRO wanted things I hadn't prepared

Booked the slot online through IGRS and thought I was sorted, but the sub-registrar's office asked for the link documents going back a couple of transfers, not just the current sale deed. Had to rush to a Xerox shop outside for extra copies of the pattadar passbook page too. The actual registration itself took under an hour once the paperwork was in order, biometric and photo included, but the wait before that dragged on because of the token queue. Anyone else been caught out by document requirements the SRO doesn't tell you about beforehand?

Same thing happened with my shop registration in Khammam. They also cross check the EC copy you bring against what shows on the portal, so print it fresh and don't rely on an old one.

This is why I always tell people to ask the document writer beforehand for the exact list, it varies a bit by SRO even within the same district.

Token queue timing is the real pain, get there early or an afternoon token can mean a 3-4 hour wait before your turn even with online booking.
