Registered a plot near Khammam about six weeks ago and the record still shows the previous owner. Is this normal, or should I be actively chasing something? First time buying land so I don't know what's routine here.
Some lag is normal, but don't just wait passively. Check the ROR on Bhu Bharati (the portal that replaced Dharani in 2025) for that survey number. If the mutation hasn't triggered, apply for it with your registered sale deed — through the portal or the tahsildar. Six weeks with no movement is worth a follow-up, not panic.
Mine took around a month after I actually applied for the mutation. Sitting and waiting for it to happen by itself was my mistake initially.
