Trying to budget the total over and above the price for a commercial property registration in Vijayawada — stamp duty, registration, transfer duty. I don't want a stale number off some blog. Where's the authoritative place to get the current applicable rate for my specific case?
Don't take a percentage off any blog, or even off me — the rates get revised and they differ by property type (commercial vs residential), sometimes the buyer, and the deed type (sale/gift/partition). The honest way: use the AP Registration & Stamps portal, registration.ap.gov.in — it has the duty and fee structure and a way to work out the chargeable value for that SRO. Better still, get the exact figure from the sub-registrar's office for your specific document before you budget. Stamp duty is charged on the higher of consideration or guideline value, so also check the guideline value for that locality first — that's usually the surprise, not the rate itself.
This applies in TS too — I budgeted off an old blog percentage and a guideline value revision blew my estimate. Pull the current guideline value first.
